BBQ PULLED SHIITAKE BURGER

Messy in the best way. Bold, satisfying, and guaranteed to be a crowd-pleaser. Serve with slaw, pickles, or whatever you fancy. Just don’t forget extra napkins!

INGREDIENTS

2.2lb (1kg) bag of Fable Pulled Shiitake Mushrooms

10 burger buns, halved 

Neutral cooking oil

4 tbsp HP sauce

1 cup Sweet (Kansas City Style) Sticky Barbeque sauce

10 slices melty cheese

Optional toppings:

Creamy slaw

Pickles

METHOD

Heat oil in pan on high heat. Once hot, cook Fable or 5-6 mins. Add HP sauce and quickly coat all pieces. Then add the BBQ sauce, cooking for another minute.

Toast the burger buns and get ready to assemble!

To serve:

With a solid spatula place ½ cup of BBQ Fable on the bottom buns, add a slice of cheese and melt with a torch. Add condiments of your choice, and finish with the top bun.

Tips & suggestions:

  • Fable can be left chunky, shredded apart or flattened down to create a smashed burger feel.

  • Experiment with different sauces to create different flavor profiles.
